Smart Posters and Decals are advertising printed materials which have a distinct call to action to a consumer which causes them to respond to an SMS Text offer, a request to scan a QR Code or an opportunity to "bump" their phone on an NFC pad on the poster. By the end of 2012, 70% of consumers will be using a Smart Phone. That an amazing reach when you consider the following QR Code and Coupon INFOGRAPHIC.
A new report from Juniper Research predicts that the Average Revenue
Per User (ARPU) from near field communication based coupon and smart
poster applications will exceed those generated from payments
applications, until 2014 at least.
Mobile Coupons & NFC Smart Posters: Strategies, Applications & Forecasts 2009-2014 forecasts that consumer usage of mobile coupons will generate close to $6 billion globally in retail redemption value by 2014. One
in ten mobile subscribers in developed regions will be using mobile
coupons by that date, says Juniper, and the vast majority of mobile
coupon redemption value will be generated by the Far East & China,
Western Europe and North America in 2014.
